It's

2 posts in under 1 week? Oh la vache!

Ok folks, it's time to set things straight. I'm going to tell you what exactly a kiwi is.

This is a kiwi. It is a small ratite endemic to New Zealand. There are 5 species of kiwi, one of which is extinct. All are highly threatened or endangered. This bird was the first thing to be named "kiwi."

These are native New Zealanders, also known as "kiwis." They are named after their beloved national bird (see above).

This is a chinese gooseberry. New Zealand took up the rights to rename it "kiwi" fruit and now it is grown in many areas of the North and South Islands.

I hope that cleared up any confusion.

I'm writing an essay on the history of New Zealand conservation. Or rather, I'm putting off finishing the essay.

PEACE,

Lizzie
